Traralgon Yoga Therapist
Jeni is a qualified Traralgon Yoga Therapist (AAYT) and sees individual clients with a range of health issues, often to assist them with modifications and alternative practices, to enable them to integrate into the general classes. With a background in nursing and complimentary therapies, Jeni has a special interest in people with health issues who want to attend yoga classes, and is involved in supporting people with cancer in the Gippsland community. As an Affiliate of the Satyananda Academy in Australia, she is involved in on-going development and teaching into the Diploma of Satyananda Yoga Training.
Whilst yoga practice in general has health benefits, yoga therapy involves employing a variety of individualised yoga techniques aimed at improving a health issue, managing a chronic condition (e.g. chronic pain, arthritis), or to ease a natural process, such as menopause. Among the yogic tools used therapeutically are asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath work), meditation, mindfulness, relaxation, and lifestyle and dietary advice.
Yoga therapy is provided as one-to-one consultation, in a similar way to many other modalities of health and well-being such as massage therapy, physiotherapy and often in consultation with your other health care provider.
